Obama Acceptance Speech

Last Monday 17 November we went to Granada to see a play in English called Daily News. We had already worked with it in class, so students knew what it was about. It was quite funny and people enjoyed it very much. At the end one of our students volunteered to come on stage with the actors. We had a very good time and we learned a lot too.
Here there is Obama's acceptance speeech. I think it can be interesting to have a look and an eye at it.

As you know, one of my favourite sites is the one by Isabel Pérez. One of the things she does, and very well I must say, is to work with songs. Recently I went to see the film Mamma Mia, with songs by the famous group ABBA. So I decided to have a look at one of their most famous songs. Here you are. Try and do the activities. Hello, boys and girls, welcome back to school. Here we are again for a new school year. I hope you spent a very nice summer and that you had time to practise a little English in your free time, although I know that you had other priorities. Anyway, there is a whole year in front of us and I'd like to do a lot of things. I've got lots of ideas in my mind and I'd like to share them with you. Hello, everybody: It has been a long time since I last wrote something, but I've been so busy. I'm terribly sorry for it and I promise I will never be so late again.

I didn't want to finish the year without saying good bye. I know that probably nobody will see this entry, but I wanted it to be a farewell and a welcome for next year.

I would like all of you to know that although it has been a hard year in many senses, it has also been a pleasure to teach you. I've had a great time teaching you and I have also learned a lot from you.

I hope to see you next year and share lots of things together. Thank you very much for everything and have a very nice summer.

It's called Inglis Pitinglis and it reminded me a bit of the English you sometimes use. Of course, it is not a ctotally correct English but it is interesting.
